okay. so i am good with it. while i hated most of Season 8, i loved the finale.
everyone is where they are supposed to be. it all made sense.
i cried when Tyrion found Cersei and Jaime. i will admit, when i saw Lena Heady and Nikoli whatever his name is names on the opening credits, my first thought was, I KNEW IT!! they are NOT dead. well, yep. i was wrong.
i did not see Jon stabbing Dany coming. was a total shock to me. i audibly gasped so loud it scared my cat who was sitting on my lap.
i totally cried for Drogon. him nudging his mother was heartbreaking. i'm glad he burned the iron throne. i cried when he picked Dany up and flew away with her.
i didn't cry for Dany, however. Jon did the right thing. based on her response when he said, "you killed and burned little children" she didn't even show remorse. she turned the blame on Cersei, which is BS. she did NOT need to flambe everyone after they rung the bells of surrender.
i like that they chose Bran as the King. he is an unemotional strong person who can see all the wrongs in the past and he will not be one to repeat them. i like that he chose Tyrion, seeing that Tyrion needed to redeem himself.
i love that he gave the North to Sansa as an independent entity. all hail Sansa, Queen of the North. i loved that her coronation gown had red leaves from the weirwood tree. she will be a good Queen. the people in the North love the Starks.
i cried, a lot when the Stark kids said goodbye to Jon. not sure what the Night's Watch is going to do now that there are no more wights, but he will guard the realms of men. but if Greyworm is going to Naath, why did Jon have to leave Westeros? that didn't make sense to me.
i love the Small Council that Bran assembled. i loved that Brienne wrote about Jaime. she wrote the rest of his story, even though it hurt her. it was meant to be.
LOVE the new Raven sigil for House Bran the Broken. (of course)
LOVED that Podrick is now Ser Podrick (i love that Brienne knighted him).
Love that Ser Davos is still in the mix. He's a good man.
YAY to Grand Maester Samwell Tarly!
and i was waiting the entire episode for Ghost. i'm glad the writers brought him back to be with Jon. and loved that Tormund was waiting for Jon.
while i'm going to miss GoT terribly, i will be able to watch it over and over. the finale was hands down the best episode of Season 8 (with the Long Night being second best) and i'm very satisfied with the ending. i will be honest, after last week's episode, i just couldn't see GoT redeeming itself.
it did.
