so the phone call went pretty good.

i learned that my medical bills are a bit over $125,000.  WOW!  i was not expecting that.  but it was a tough few years going through two surgeries and countless doctor visits, prescriptions and PT appointments.

my attorney let me know that he generally does not put a dollar amount in the settlement letter to the insurance company.  he sends the info to them, lets them review it, and have them come back with an offer.  then we discuss from there. 

running the numbers, i know what i need to accept an offer without filing a lawsuit.  after payment of the medical bills, the attorney's fees, deducting for taxes, pay off my current debt, pay off current taxes owed, i'd be left with about $40,000 - which is life changing (for me anyway). 

i could actually buy a house or something (maybe).  my current lease is up the end of July.  i hope this can come to a resolution prior to that. 

we'll see what happens.
